On October 11, 2011, Alliance Town Center filed suit against Velvet Box (Sam Moon Center). For two years, Velvet Box (Sam Moon Center) has been pressured to close. The suit claims that Velvet Box is a Sexually Oriented Business in violation of the law even though the City of Fort Worth and Vice have done numerous inspections and declared it not to be. Sam Moon, the landlord for Velvet Box and the owner of the shopping center, was named in the suit as well.
We feel this is a bullying tactic where legal fees will be run up so high that we are forced to give up and go away. Someone there just doesn’t like the idea of our store even though they have never been in it. We think we have the right to do business in peace, especially if we are following the law.
HOW CAN YOU HELP? It Only Takes A Few Seconds.
If you like our store and want to see us stay, email Mike Berry, President of Hillwood Properties Alliance and TELL HIM YOU WANT US TO STAY! Every person’s voice counts. Velvet Box wants to continue to serve our loyal customers in the community.
